1. What is Biometric Authentication?
Biometric Authentication means the identity authentication function using biometric credentials, including fingerprint, facial map or any other biometric data. Biometric Authentication Service is only applicable to Alpha i mobile app. You can log into Alpha i quickly and easily by using the biometric credential instead of entering your password every time.
2.How to activate the Biometric Authentication Service?
You can activate the Biometric Authentication Service after login. Go to “More” > “Settings” > “Biometric Authentication Service”
3.Can I keep using password to log into Alpha i after activating Biometric Authentication Service?
Yes. You can still log into Alpha i with your password.
4.Which mobile devices support Biometric Authentication Service?
Fingerprint Authentication is available on:
iPhone:
iPhone 5s or later models running iOS version 12.2 or above, with Touch ID
Android Mobile Device:
Android mobile devices running OS version 8.0 or above with compatible fingerprint sensor enabled. Brands include Samsung,LG, Sony, Google, HTC, Huawei and Xiaomi
Face Recognition is available on:
iPhone X or later models with iOS version 12.2 or above
5. Can someone else log into my account if his/her biometric credential is stored on my mobile device?
Any biometric credential(s) stored on your mobile device, now or in the future, can be used to log into Alpha i after you activatethe Biometric Authentication Service. Therefore, you should only store your own biometric credential(s) on your mobile device. Please read the Terms and Conditions for more details on the risks and responsibilities.
6. Will CFSG store my biometric credentials?
No. CFSG will never store your biometric credentials.
7. Can I deactivate the Biometric Authentication Service?
Yes. You can deactivate the Biometric Authentication Service anytimeafter login. Go to “More” > “Settings” > “Biometric Authentication Service”
8. Why is my Biometric Authentication disabled?
Your Biometric Authentication may be disabled because of the following reasons.
- Your biometric credential information on your mobile device has been changed
- You have activated the Biometric Authentication Service on another mobile device
- Your registered mobile device has been removed
You can continue to use the biometric login on Alpha i after reactivating the Biometric Authentication Service.
